“Scream Queens” – Alive and Animated

Happy Halloween!  My photo series “Scream Queens” continues its mutation into the multimedia world with this new video, which animates photos alongside recent spooky video work and new cartoon animations I made for this set.

I also have a couple sets left of the Viewmasters I created last year of the series- featuring models like Glass Olive, Anastasia Arteyeva, and Mosh.  They are available at my Etsy and are fun for the whole (adult) family!

GO – new video art featuring Glass Olive

Filmed with my old buddy Glass Olive in her home state of Utah in July.  Everything is done on my GoPro Hero Black 4.  The soundtrack is different from recent video art pieces- not a straight composition as I normally make, but a warped soundscape collage kind of thing.  The next few video art pieces I have in the pipeline have a similar aesthetic, warped soundscape collages and music videos for artists other than myself.

Kacie Marie

Kacie Marie

There are a few models that I have had on my wishlist for literally years, and one of those is NYC singer/ actress/ model Kacie Marie.  We had been sending emails back and forth for perhaps 3 years before we actually connected for a May 2015 shoot.  We have the mutual common ground of love of b-movie vibes, and she has always exuded a particular vibe that references sexiness with innocence- what people sometimes call the “retro Playboy vibe.”  You know, before it got trashy and silicone.  If you enjoy any of this work I encourage you to like it and share it!  For more photoworks goodness peruse my Etsy shop, follow on tumblr and twitter and instagram, and rummage around on my full site.

Clearance Sale at DMP Etsy Shop

2015-01-25 18.41.21With February coming and lots of different kinds of art being produced around the house, I had to take a hard look at my Etsy shop and whittle down my current inventory of photographic art and sculpture.

With that in mind, I’ve got a clearance sale running on my Etsy shop – many sculptural masks and large photographic prints, sized 11×17″ and 20×30″ (just shy of 2ft x 3ft).  Have a rummage!

Adobe Lightroom Tutorial: How to use “Transform” in Portraiture

I got a decent start on tutorials earlier this year, and then it was a bunch of silence as I made music videos and video art.  With classes being on break during the holidays I’ve been able to catch up with a lot of new tutorials- and I’m open to any tutorial requests!  If there is anything you’d like me to do a photography “how to” video on, respond in the comments below or email me at dbmillerphoto@gmail.com.

Halloween Shots – Percolate in “Catwomanesque”

Jenn_02

Two images show last year of local model + friend Percolate, who made her hair into cat-ears and donned a stunning latex suit in ridiculously hot weather.  The top image was shot with the use of a slide projector and some old slides I’d inherited.  The bottom one was merely to take advantage of the pretty sky we had that day.untitled-225

Print available on my etsy site.  I’ll be posting individual shots from this series as well as new “Scream Queens” work for the remainder of October!  If you enjoy any of this work I encourage you to like it and share it!  For more photoworks goodness peruse my Etsy shop, follow on tumblr and twitter and instagram, and rummage around on my full site.

“Scream Queens” compilation

In honor of the greatest holiday, Halloween – Scream Queens by David Miller, a summary of the series as it was when it was first exhibited. I may have to redo this since it’s expanded a lot in the year and a half since the gallery show. The music was created by me using Garageband on my iPad.
