The 12 Stages of a Photoshoot

The levels of a major shoot:
  1. I’m going to make this super special and indulge myself
  2. The Haggling
  3. Shit, this will cost a lot
  4. Obstacles that make me want to cancel
  5. Zen-like readiness
  6. So much fun shooting
  7. The Denoument (post-shoot dinner and excitement)
  8. Did I fuck it up?
  9. Mental editing: picking through the hundreds of images, excitement, disappointment, inspriation, frustration all at once
  10. actual editing, kind of fun, kind of rote
  11. Things start to take shape:  acceptance
  12. Final products emerge: pride, pleasure
